Cindy Walker has been called “the dean of Texas songwriters,” “a true Texas treasure,” and “the greatest living songwriter of country music” of her time. This book is intended to fill some of the gaps in the public’s knowledge of this remarkable woman who lived most of her life in Mexia, a small town in Central Texas. Walker was an extraordinarily productive and successful songwriter, writing more than a thousand songs. Over half of them have been recorded by a long list of artists from different musical genres, and many became hits. Walker was inducted into the “Million-aires club” of Broadcast Music International (BMI), which means her songs have been played on the radio more than a million times. They have also frequently appeared in movies and television shows. Of course, she received numerous honors and awards, again indicating her significance.

Great book. I ordered it despite a notice on the order page saying that the book was as yet unavailable and would be shipped when it became available. However, it arrived so quickly that I suspect it was available all along. You might kike to check whether that warning message is still up since it could discourage would-be buyers.
